Poor streaming and disappointing response

The app has one main Job: stream video to your device. Almost every show buffering fails and I have to reboot my device. Nothing else gets things working. (network is not the problem).

Deleting a recording and displaying all recorded shows are really slow. The former is a UX a that wants to block you for doing anything for about 5 seconds every time you delete a show and forces you to see a confirmation dialog and a success dialog. Similarly getting a list of recorded shows can take 2 seconds. These make the app feel sluggish.
